Focuslight Advances Global Optimization of Production and R&D Capabilities, Accelerates Consumer Electronics Growth with Singapore Hub

Xi’an, China, April 14, 2025 – Focuslight Technologies, a global leader in advanced photonics solutions, has successfully completed a strategic global optimization program aimed at enhancing both production and research & development (R&D) capabilities. As part of this initiative, Focuslight has further strengthened its newly operational Singapore facility, positioning it as a key innovation and manufacturing hub. This comprehensive effort enhances Focuslight’s technological synergies, operational efficiency, and innovation agility across its global footprint—reinforcing the company’s leadership in advanced wafer-level optics (WLO) and wafer-level stacking (WLS) for next-generation consumer electronics.

Global Optimization: Driving Efficiency, Innovation Agility, and Seamless Technology Access

Following the acquisition of assets from ams OSRAM in September 2024, Focuslight launched a global optimization program to fully leverage the unique strengths of each site within its global network. This program enhances both production excellence and R&D collaboration, ensuring faster innovation cycles and seamless access to cutting-edge technologies across Focuslight’s facilities in Singapore, Switzerland, Germany and China.

Now fully operational, the Singapore facility serves as both a high-volume production center and a dynamic innovation hub. It leverages Focuslight’s industry-leading WLO and WLS technologies to develop and produce advanced optical components, including:

The site’s wafer-level processes ensure micron-scale precision, scalability to millions of units, and seamless integration into surface-mount technology (SMT) assembly lines—crucial for consumer electronics partners seeking faster time-to-market. “Our Singapore facility is a true innovation hub, enabling us to deliver cutting-edge optical components and modules at scale.
